On Wednesday group of the Ukrainian intelligentsia (writers, painters, artists, actors, journalists, scientists and members of the VRU) sent an open letter to the President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Ukraine and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.

"Involving of the citizens of Ukraine into this international scandal at the side of the aggressor can bring the most difficult consequences for the Ukrainian people.

We are calling upon for stop involvement of the Ukrainian people to this Georgian-Ossetian-Russian conflict at the side of the aggressor. We demand to denounce the regime of Saakashvili, attacked South Ossetia and shot the peacemakers against the international agreements of 1992," the signers claim.

MP from the Party of Regions Vadym Kolesnychenko

- For last six months Viktor Yushchenko made all possible and impossible to break our friendly relations with Russia.

One-side covering of the Georgian-Ossetian-Russian conflict worries and disturb the reasonable people, including not only in Ukraine.

Viktor Yushchenko without any legal grounds and authorities tried to use the fratricidal war, launched by Saakashvili in South Ossetia, for intensification of the conflict with the Russian Federation, having made statement on behalf of the Ukrainian people.

Can the reasonable head of the country, understanding all difficulties of our relations, make such actions? It is a rhetoric question.

I don't believe that Russia thretens Ukraine. Inadequate leadership of our country is a threat to Ukraine. Yushchenko makes an enemy from Russia and Russia in turn reacts adequately to it," the PM member said.

According to him, the RF will never threaten to the territorial integrity of Ukraine. There are official statements and documents about it.

Everything else is inspiration of the conflict by Yushchenko and his people for preparation of the military coup in Ukraine.

They can destroy our future and fututre of the state.

Yuevhen Filindash, Director of the Center of Social Policy "Left Sight", MP of the 4^th and 5^th convocations:

We are worru about the statements made by Yushchenko about the Georgian-Ossetian conflict in the name of the Ukrainian people. He doesn't understand that he has no right to present his own opinion as the opinion of the whole nation, of all citizens of our international state. People didn't ask him about.

It's impossible to let him repeat the Georgian scenario of "Keep your power at any cost" in Ukraine. ukraine is neither Russia nor Geaorgia, and nobody will turn it into Georgia.

Elbrus Tedeyev, Olympic Champion, MP from the Party of Regions:

- South Ossetian events are an inhuman thing. Unfortunately, Yushchenko have not realized it till now. He was absolutely inadequate rending unilaterally humanitarian aid to Georgia. He forgot that the Georgian soldiers reduced to ashes the Ossetian villages and settlements. What a pity that Yushchenko took the side of his Saakashvili in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.

All the world has known that the day before the conflict Ukraine delivered military techniques to the Georgian side and Georgian chastisers shot civil population of Ossetia just with these munitions. It is Victor Yushchenko who personally allowed munitions business. at my native land everybody knows that the President of Ukraine is a representative of the USA interests.

My countrymen are sure that he provided his child's demon-possessed Godfather Mikho with munitions to the brim.

And the Ossetian people will never forgive him.

The Ossetian People will never forget the Ukrainians who sent to burned Tskhinvali humanitarian aid, medicines, blankets and toys for children.

The Party of Regions is preparing at the moment the next deliver of humanitarian aid to South Ossetia.

- I think that double standards are inappropriate in the policy. If the USA hadn't had armed Saakashvili, nothing would have been occurred. If Ukraine had not had sold the tanks to Geaorgia, nothing would have been occurred. But the USA and Victor Yushchenko in his Minister of Defence Yekhanurov overfilled Georgia with the munitions. In the result the Ossetian blood was shed.

I think that the reason of this tragedy was in Saakashvili's aggression. If Saakashvili were at war himself, he  would not like it. it is very easy to start a war when you have a wife born in Holland, knowing that at any moment you would be saved by  your American protectors.

I wouldn't like Ukraine to become in Georgian situation due to our President who is interested in his child's godfather problems more than in the problems of the Georgian and Ossetian peoples.

I am not sure that we have right to solve in such a way our domestic problems.

Petro Tolochko, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences:

-         Ukrainian people will be obliged to pay for the absurd policy of his President at the Caucasus. Russia has the right to treat Ukraine in the same way as it treats Europe. I think that in the next year we'll by energy resources  for the prices established for all other European countries. It will become more and more difficult for us to sell our production to Russia. By the way, no other country buys them.

I have been back from South Ossetia. Georgian chastisers armed with Ukrainian weapon did there horrible things. Tskhinvali reminds Stalingrad, there is not a clean spot to be seen on. And the most tragic thing is that the Ukrainian nationalists from the Ukrainian National Assembly - Ukrainian National Self Defence took part in the conflict.

They escaped from the territory of Ossetia together with the Georgian chastisers, changing on-the-run. They were so in a hurry that they left at the spot their uniform and memo books with written addresses of their organization and instructions concerning military operations at the territory of this state.

I am ashamed when I see Yushchenko taking the side of the aggressor and coming to Tbilisi by order of Washington.

I am ashamed for our President. Do you remember the words of the character from the "White Sun of the Desert"? I can even repeat after him: "What a shame of the state!" as we have not the state. But we do have our country!

Yushchenko may not be so cynical. Even if he is a godfather of the child of this aggressor/ Saakashvili will go to prison one day. He will bear responsibility for the genocide of the third millennium.  

Vasyl Volha, leader of the "Unian of the Left forces:

-         Inadequacy of Yushchenko's behaviour makes us think: can he do the same against the unarmed people?

Before the 2^nd of September we could think that there were only risks of inadequate behaviour of the President.

But that day in the parliament showed that Victor Yushchenko did not already exists as a legitimate President of the country. Parliament has become the center of the power. Nobody of representatives of the securities (and the "Union of the Left Forces" communicates with the security services actively) will obey any illegal order or decree of Yushchenko. They will orient to the regulations of the Constitution that prevent from executing criminal orders of the President.

It is the very end! You can bring down the curtain and say: "Thank God! Victor Andriyovych Yushchenko and those of his ilk were nothing more than an ill luck in the history of Ukraine. We have to bury all this, to forget about, to draw conclusions and continue development of our country.
