Olena Bondarenko: Bohatyryova can give a head start to Tymoshenko

The Party of Regions opposed the statement of NSDC Secretary Raisa Bohatyryova that the position of PR leader Viktor Yanukovych concerning recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia independence is a single-handed decision , but not a collective decision of the party.

Olena Bondarenko, MP from the Party of Regions tried to comment on actions of Raisa Bohatyryova who couldn't but understood what the results of such statements would be

- Olena Anatoliyivna, the PR made conclusions from the statement of Raisa Bohatyryova that position of PR leader Viktor Yanukovych concerning recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia independence is a single-handed decision, but not a collective decision of the party. The result is the exclusion from the party. Was it an adequate decision or did you hasten with the exclusion?

- It is difficult to say about adequacy, everybody has his own option. As to the haste, the decision was taken as it was taken. It happed, and there is no sense to discuss whether it was haste to exclude Bohatyryova from the party.

- Do you admit that Raisa Bohatyryova could join the party again? On what condition could it take place?

- I admit this. Maybe, most likely, if it takes place it would be nice. But then surely Raisa Bohatyryova will be forced to retract her statement and her attitude to the MAP and Ukraine's membership in NATO. 

- Has Raisa Bohatyryova earlier made such statements contrary to the party's opinion? 

- This is the first statement of such kind.

- By this statement Mrs. Bohatyryova has prejudiced the leadership of Yanukovych...

- It was hardly the aim to prejudice leadership of Yanukovych. I see big part of insincerity in her words.

Statement of Bohatyryova in the States, that caused much noise in Ukraine, means that she paid visit there, in order to agree about something.

I can suggest that Raisa Bohatyryova paid her visit to the USA in order to have some support. In this case such statements in scope of her negotiations are not sincere.

- Do you admit that she went for negotiations in order to obtain support at the presidential elections to be alternative variant to Yulia Tymoshenko?

-  Such variant is not ruled out. We don't know what these negotiations were about. We will know about the real truth of these negotiations later

Raisa Bohatyryova is not such a politician who does something for no special reason.

If she made such statement, it means there is a reason for this. It to suppose that she paid visit to the USA in order to have some support during the presidential elections, it is undoubtedly that Bohatyryova can give a head start to Tymoshenko.

- There is such opinion that exclusion of Raisa Bohatyryova from the Party of Regions means that "regions" clean their party before the elections, and the group of Rinat Akhmetov, to which Raisa Bohatyryova supposedly belongs, has started to "play" on the side of Viktor Yushchenko...

- The Party of Regions has been divided into parts, wings, alignments as long as the party exists.

The so called experts stated about this not once.

As to the new party's branch, in any case political projects always have a tendency to change. Nobody can say what the Party of Regions will be in 5-10-20 years. The most important is that now there no prerequisites to this.
