Chornovil: statement that Bohatyryova is a member of Akhmetov’s grouping is an exaggeration

Traitor - this nickname is one of those that remain for a long time in policy. There are a lot of examples. The most bright is the example of Oleksandr Moroz when he agreed to become the Speaker of the anti-crisis coalition of the PR-CPU-SPU.

It will be very difficult for the party of Region as well as for BYuT to explain to his electors this alliance. That s why they called it "situational voting" and do not hurry to legalize their political relations. Taras Chornovil discusses whether forming of new coalition is real in his interview for the IMC (InterMedia Consulting).

- Taras Vyacheslavovych, is the synchronic voting of the PR and BYuT a confirmation of the new coalition?

- You know, I shall have paranoia soon because of these comments.  BYuT told once about a "bandit coalition of the Party of Regions and Our Ukraine" as we voted synchronically.

I am listening now to OU's statements about a new coalition of the PR and BYuT. There is no such coalition! As well as there is no coalition of the PR and Our Ukraine.

To work under condition of a normal situational majority is the only way of normal work today.

We have been got tired of our President! that is why we managed to find common language with BYuT in certain difficult questions.

Do the interests of the PR and BYuT coincide in some questions? Let them coincide in the question of normal work of the VRU!

- Are the early elections to the VRU real?

- they are quite real. There was a scenario of blackmailing BYuT and destroying the Coalition, to put the cabinet in limbo. The President played this game. And the events are developing in accordance with this scenario. But the situation has changed as we have found common language with BYuT and decided not to play up to the President. that's all.

Believe me, impeachment is possible in some weeks. If Yushchenko continues his game, either we shall go to early elections to the parliament or the Verkhovna Rada will get rid of such a rudimentary thing as the OU faction. Remember the City Council of Kyiv.

- Are there grounds for impeachment ?

- Abuse of terms.

- What do you mean?

- Abuse of power concerning suspension of the acts delivered by the Cabinet, statements in the name of the state, constitutionally ungrounded claim for joining the MAP. I told in January 2005 that Yushchenko came to power in illegal way and would be impeached.

- Was Bohatyryova excluded from the PR with the aim to weaken positions of the grouping of Akhmetov-Kolesnikov?

- I wouldn't tell it. Remember, who criticized Bohatyryova concerning her transfer to the Secretariat of the President?

- Who?

- It was Boris Kolesnikov. The statement that Bohatyryova is a member of Akhmetov's grouping is an exaggeration. She is leader of her own grouping, there are people in the faction oriented to her. She made her choice herself, and the party pocketed it. but there are regulations written in the statute of the party.

I criticize often the decisions of the party, too. But I avoid direct violations of the program. I understand that I wouldn't ask to explain my position. I will write my appeal for withdrawal from the party myself.

- but the PR missed a lot having excluded Bohatyryova. She is one of the founders of the Party, she is a serious politician...

- we have lost a good organizer of the party, that's true. The faction is not provided with analytical researches, with methods of discussion and making decisions. It was Raisa Bohatyryova who organized these processes.

Let me remember you that in 2002 when the party had been already organized Bohatyryova and me were elected at the additional elections. She was nominated from the Christian Democratic Party of Zhuravskyi. It seems to me that she joined the PR in 2003 or 2004.
