Around-the-world journey by a biodiesel car

Famous Japanese photographer and racer Shusei Yamada has recently visited Ukraine. Now Shusei Yamada makes a world tour by his car. He also teaches people how it is right to use energy resources which were just unnecessary wastes yesterday.

The talented Japanese inventor together with his small team travels around the countries and continents by his car, the motor of which uses a mixture of the sunflower oil, methanol and additives.

Due to the chemical reaction in 24hours the car can receive 40 liters of the first sort fuel plus 8 liters of wastes. But they are not thrown away. From the wastes the portable refinery produces fertilizers, soap and accessories! The part of refined wastes is used as aromatizer in his car. And it nobody has allergy to it.

"The aim of the Biodiesel Adventure Project is to show the world community one of the possible variants of transfer to the ecologically clean types of energy. This will help not only to preserve the ecology on the planet, but also think about next generations," Yamada-san says.

In November 2007 Yamada-san started in Japan in order people to know more about his ideas.

Yamada-san travelled around Canada, USA, Portugal, France, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Czech and Slovakia to popularize his method of biodieasel production. He didn't face a problem of feedstock deficit for the alternative fuel production in those countries. Owners of restaurants and pizzerias with great pleasure gave him waste oil, which they had poured out in a sewer pipe earlier.

They addressed many restaurants, cafes and pizzerias. And everywhere they were denied as there was no waste oil. "I thought: it couldn't be so. In 200-million Japan every year around 400 million liters of waste sunflower oil is utilized. If all oil is refined, then about 40 thousand cars could be filled with biodiesel year-round. Now almost 50 million Ukrainians live in Ukraine. So, could you tell me, where is all that oil used for restaurant meals cooking?!"

Shusei Yamada made an assumption that most likely, Ukrainian cooks use in their restaurants and pizzerias "waste oil" in second or third time. They injure health of visitors.
